Default Operation Aborted

About two months ago I started having trouble loading pages. I would click a thread, wait about a full minute, and then get the dreaded red x with a message that says something about Internet Explorer cannot open this page blah, blah, blah. Underneath it says "Operation Aborted." I finally decided that I would change my profile to exclude all photos when viewing a topic and things got much better...I get the message about 10% of the time now whereas before it was about 75 % of the time. If I visit the site without logging in the problem is still very prevalent which tells me it is the photos that are causing my grief.

Anyway, just curious to hear what others have to say as I don't know if the problem is on my end or if the problem is with the forum. Anybody else having this problem?

Thanks!

Rob,

Are using dialup still. I had the same problem until I went with high speed internet. Some things just aren't going to work on dialup anymore.

Terry,

Actually, I have an ISDN line which was explained to be as being a phone line dedicated to data only. Supposed to be about 10X faster than dial up but still quite a bit slower than a cable hook up.

Maybe it still is a speed issue. Either way, thanks for the input...it does help to know that others have had the same problem.

Rob
