Question/Suggestion for the Moderators...
I have provided a ton of content to members on the ironhead site with documents. I am as far from being a tech person as one can be when it comes to computers.
What I have to do is this:
1) Scan the document and save as a PDF. If it is a photo, then I have to convert it to a PDF. ( I have Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 )
2) Open it in Acrobat 6.0 Professional. Do what ever it is I have to mark up, then save.
3) Save it again as a TIFF.
4) Open the TIFF in Paintshop Pro 8.
5) Then do a 'save as' in JPEG.
6) If the resulting JPEG is larger than 500mb, then I have to reduce file size using Windows.......Wow! Now I am finally ready to attach this to my reply I am making to the member. Talk about time and pain.
This is how I have to do it, and this is what I have done for over the past year.
Since there is so much of it done I decided a long time back to save my scans into a set of folders on my computer. A lot of the information is needed again and again, so the folders save me from repeating the scan exercise every time I need the info but it still amounts to a lot of effort.
There has to be a better way to attach documents!
For photos, nothing need change from what is now in place IMHO, but I sure wish they could incorporate Adobe into the forum for the document side of things.
Hoping something can change with that.......pg
