For now, until things get fixed, go to Google put what you are looking for and then after that type hdforums. Works fairly well.

Terry,

Why not post a technical explanation of the search function problem?

There is a wealth of computer related techical knowledge on THIS forum.

Most of us routinely ask for Harley help here.

Maybe some of us could help you this time.

Sorry if I missed the technical explanation, but I couldn't search for it.

I do not have an update except that they are working on it. You may not understand that "We" don't work on the tech problems here at hdf. The owners have tech out in California that do the work. We have no control over what happens. I was told the other day that it was being taken care of. That's all I can do.

Thanks.

You are correct that I/we really don't have insight into the inner workings of HDForums.

I appreciate the effort that moderators and adminstratorsput into this great site.

But, it seems like these "tech" people owe you, as an administrator, some pretty detailed updates on the problem.

I know, as a tech person myself,my customer would be demanding explanations, details, and schedules if a problem lingered on as long as this.

Good luck with the problem, this is a great site.

I guess the users, admin, and moderators will know at the same time when the problem is fixed.

That is, when it works.

I have a feeling these so called "tech" people have very little technical expertise if it's taking them this long to fix this search function problem. Having been a hardware computer tech myself for over 43 years, any problem hardware or software that wasn't an intermittent problemwhich went on this long would be totally unacceptable and heads would be rolling. Even if it was an intermittent problem my customers would still beunhappy if it wasn't fixedwithin avery short time frame.
