I was finally able to get the "block" feature to work. That's the good news (at least it has been good for my blood pressure  \\. The bad news is that it doesn't prevent blocked users who post to a thread I am subscribed to from appearing in my email inbox when I receive a new post notification. This kind of defeats the purpose of blocking users.
Is this the way it has always been or is it just part of the ongoing forum difficulties being currently experienced?
It appears the filter will catch and block the poster from your view,, but not from email subscriptions. You can unsubscribe from any threads the blocked posters posts in is the only fix I have for you at the moment.
I figured as much from my own observation, but thank you for following through and confirming. Unsubscribing isn't really an option, since the pests are invariably in busy threads that I want to follow.
Given the other forum issues, this is probably well down on anyone's list of things to fix. Please pass it up the food chain though as a suggestion for future improvement.
The forum upgrade is now long since past, and this problem still exists. It is now called the Ignore List, but it still has the same problem. That is, adding someone to the list prevents you from seeing their post(s) in a thread when you are logged in, but does nothing to prevent the entire text of their message from appearing in "Reply to thread" or supbscribed thread email updates... which defeats the very purpose of this feature!
