Those of us who are NOT computer savvy use whatever came with the laptop.
If I DO get IE to work, when I get to:
Downloadingpicturedata:image/gif;base64,AAAA... it just stops the whole works and I have to reboot. Whats up with that?
Please don't take that as a snide remark or a claim that I am computer savvy! It was just a joke, aimed at the truly remarkable (but nevertheless flawed) Bill Gates (much like Windows itself).
Go online and try both Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird which are free. If you like them (and you probably will) use them as your default systems. You have nothing to lose and much to gain.

Bill Gates retired years ago from Microsoft and spends his days giving his money to charities so I don't think he is not the one to blame - but yeah Microsoft IE sucks. I think Microsoft realized they lost the browser wars a few years back and simply puts IE out there now with minimal investment in development so they can say they have a browser.
