Default new forum problem

Okay - I have been putting up with the slow forum problems now for about a year and as annoying as that is, all of a sudden today the stupid moronic ads you put on the right side of the threads is blocking out half of the text so I can't even read the threads. I don't come here for the stupid ads. I come here to see the posts and to try to help other riders with their problems. Why the hell would you post ads that can not be deleted by me (the user) right over the text of a poster's thread?

Good example - the second I posted the above, a State Farm ad popped up and blocked half of my text. I understand you make money from the ads, but who the hell will use the dang site if all you can see is ads? DON'T block the forum messages to advertize silly $hit.

I think when the folks modifying this board make changes, they are not doing a test to see if the modifications will adversely impact the users. WTH - before dumping new changes on the board, TEST THEM! Can't be that difficult. I never have issues like this on any site I visit except this one.

My guess is your using Internet Explorer. If so,
try this; Go to top of browser, click on tools,
scroll down and click on "Compatibility View," a
widget will open and you'll see how to add this
forum, add it and then see if that helped.

Have you tried to disable pop-ups?

I'm sorry but this is not a forum problem or we would have thousands of members complaining about it (including me) and we do test and retest each and every change before we implement it. It's a setting in your internet explorer that needs to be changed. Of course, using Internet Explorer could also be why the forum is running slow for you and not for anyone else (except the other members using Internet Explorer). This is a HUGE forum (bigger than most) with lots and lots of pictures to support. The ads are from our sponsors and pay the bills and keep this a free site (unlike some of the other sites that started about the same time as ours and are now pay sites).

Changing compatibility view settings and pop up blockers has no effect on this problem. It's an issue with web design and IE.

All due respect Terry, I know you are a proponent of Firefox and rightfully so, it is much better than IE. But unfortunately IE is the big GM of browsers and thousands of machines are being sold and shipped with it every day. The unfortunate reality is that the majority of users are not going to stray from IE.

I had a computer science instructor tell me one time..... "learn to play nice with IE, it ain't going to go away any time soon"
