Using compatibility view sort of took care of the problem for me. I can now see the forum content, but the top ad on the right side overlays the ad underneath and there is no way to close it.......no biggie because I don't care about the ad, but it is an issue that just started with the new picture bar.

Does it on every computer I've tried. it just started two days ago. To me that says it IS a forum issue, otherwise why did it just start when nothing new has been done to the four computers I tried it on so far (home and work and friend). Doing an F5 refresh clears up the problem SOMETIMES, and TEMPORARILY.

I say it was a forum problem. I turned my computer off for a couple days. Never changed any settings. Never changed browser. Problem is gone now. Nothing on my machine was changed, but ads are no longer blocking text on the posts.

Regarding everyone always suggesting I use a different browser - My wife and I are old farts and we hate change. Some of the browsers suggested would require me to change my operating system. Hell -I don't even like it when the grocery store moves the toilet paper. I have better things to do than try learning new browsers and operating systems. Fact is, this is only one of dozens of sites I frequent and this is the only one that runs so slow that I can go brew a pot of coffee when I am waiting for a page to load up. If every other site on the internet can figure out how to run quick and smooth with IE, then why can't this site? Don't get me wrong - I love the site, but the slow loads are annoying and I simply can't understand why they cant get the site to work with IE.

Adding this site to the compatibility view helped a lot with my internet explorer! Thanks for the fix! Before this, it sounded like the hard drive on my computer would never stop running and when I'd try to scroll down the pages, I was constantly getting "Not Responding" at the top of the screen, very frustrating for sure. I'm glad that I checked in here today because it was to the point I was almost not going to use the site any longer. Thank you very much for this suggestion!

Default Think I figured out the slowness but why is the ???

Tried something just for the heck of it. Logged in on my wife's machine which has Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 9 and the slowness experienced on my machine was not here at all. ALso tried it on my new laptop which has Windows 7 and IE9, no slowness there either. Went back to my desktop machine which has Windows XP, IE 8 and the site was slower than a turtle with 3 broken legs! It has something to do with either the version of Windows some are using like those still on XP, or with the version of Internet Explorer one is using, but can't go beyone IE8 with Windows XP, so that may be where the problem lies. I think it has something to do with all the animated ads and what version of IE the person is using.

Just my .02 worth! For what it's worth. Hey that's a good song, think I'll go listen, cya later people!
