Pop up add threads

Why did the pop up add discussions get closed? I posted in the cadillac thread and looking for ways to combat these popups on a ipad. I didn't see anything out of line in the threads .The pop ups almost make a ipad useless for looking though the forum.
As soon as i posted this and went back to viewing the thread, i just got another popup.
