I am attempting to utilize Ultima Triple trees, Raked Tree, blind top.

Problem is..I think the Pich bolts or Whatever they put down there are missing.. odd arraingement anyway..
Wondering who has experience with these Buggers?? Specifically the method of "clamping tubes to Bottom tree???

I haven't handled those trees before, but I know how the pinch bolts work.

Have you seen this pic before? ... Pinch bolt circled

#1 Make sure the stem slips freely in the lower tree and threads easily in the upper.
#2 pack the bearing and set the upper in the cup with dust shield if supplied.
#3 Stem in the lower, bearing in place on it, thread up through the neck into the upper till semi loaded.
#4 Now insert the assembled and pre filled fork legs, pulling the caps on snug to hold the trees & legs together.
#5 Preload the falloff and lock the stem in the lower tree with the legs still semi floating.
#6 Square everything, tighten the tube caps but not torqued, check the square again and things are seated solidly then set the tube pinch wedges in the lower tree.

I usually throw the axle and wheel on at this point to recheck alignment on everything then tighten the tube caps down solidly.

This was the general instructions that came with my big inverted legs and the blind trees.

Blue loctite on all the retainer and locking bolts and check tregular for a couple hundred miles, crap does work loose with them. Those 1/2 moon wedges don't grip as solidly as a slot and pinch bolt does, Once it bounces around and things finds their happy it settled down.

I had those Ultima trees on my Shovelhead hardtail. The pinch bolt looked quite sketchy but they held up fine for three years of hard riding before I sold the bike, nothing ever came loose. So I guess they work.
