Hello, I have a 2013 Sportster Iron 883 and I got the Extended Forward Controls Kit from Drag Specialties. The brake rod is too long. It will either go into the brake pedal or the brake cylinder but not both. Way too long. The part # on the box matches the item so I'm pretty sure I got the right part. Install attempt was done late on Sunday so support was limited.
I'm pretty sure I've used the correct support bracket because everything else lines up fine but I still tested the other one and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten anything else to bolt in. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to this and how they fixed it? Or if anyone has any ideas?
The instructions say the kit is for a '04 to '09 XL. You got the wrong kit.
Before I started the install I called them and mentioned this and they told me that it's correct. The product name and description says for through year 2013 which is why I bought it. Revzilla confirmed this with Drag Specialties.
