Looking at new shocks for my 01 lowrider,,bike sits plenty low asis with factory shocks.havent really measured to see whats on there.i can stand flat footed and not touch seat..lol and im damn short in the leg..lol these tend to bottom out even on the hardest setting,,,should i go with 11.5 412s from progessive in heavy duty,,,dont do alot of 2 up riding...and i weigh 220,,ideas on what type would be great
The heavy duty versions are a bit harsh when it's just me and the pavement is bad. But when loaded with a passenger or a full load of camping gear, it's a smooth/firm ride. You can't have it both ways with 412's.
One of my brothers rides an '01 FXD with the 12" HD 412's; he's 300lbs.....
When I hop on with my skinny 190lb carcass it's pretty harsh, even at the lowest pre-load. I'd probably go with the std 412's were I you.....in 12".
