I'm considering installing RaceTech cartridge fork emulators in my '95 Wide Glide front fork. Has anyone had any experience with them? If so, was the ride quality dramatically improved? Did you install them yourself? Any information on this upgrade will be appreciated.
I put the cartridge emulaters and their spring set in my '97 WG. Holy Cow! The differance was huge! Really, that was the best thing I did for the handeling of that bike. Eliminated both the brake dive and the clunk. At first, I thought I had assembled it wrong, because the brakes didn't seem to work. Made my heart rate climb a bit. Then I quickly realized the brakes were working just fine, but the nose dive was eliminated.
Then I convinced my friend that he needed them for his road king. Again, the differance was huge.
Spend the bux, do the job. You will be amazed at the improvement. I can't wait for them to produce parts for the new '06 forks. As soon as they do, I'll be ordering a set.
Thanks Bob,
On your recommendation, I'm going to do the job this winter.
Theoretically, with less front end dive, you should get more grip and less lockup with the rear braking. Have you noticed any difference?
