Star hub/Paughco axle
Hi
I am putting together an old pan. I have a Paughco springer i picked up on a trade, and have a old style star hub. The paughco springer takes a 3/4 axle.. i measure the inside of the star hub and it is 13/16.. For kicks, to see the fit, i put an old hydro oem "stepped" axle through the hub and it fits perfectly on the middle "step".
Is there some kit i can buy, maybe bearings and internal spacer that i can put in the hub so it will fit a 3/4" axle? were early harley springers 3/4" axle? If so i should be able to buy a bearing kit from a '36 to late '40s/early'50's something hub and use that?
