HELP, WHEEL INSTALL PROBLEMS
Short story:
I have a set of Egotripp wheels for my Heritage. Built and desined for my bike. I had them installed however there were issues with improper spacing and installation. Ended up warping the new rotor on a long trip about 800 miles by the time the rotor warped. Had to stop on trip at HD dealer. he re-spaced and put a new stock rotor on.
The original installer had to order a new rotor for me, which I had installed by the yesterday.
During the install the tech (That did the original install) showed me what he believed to be the problem. He believes the hub on the wheel is about 1/4 inch too wide causing the wheel to sit off center with the rotor centered in the caliper. He pointed out that the Caliper pistons on each side were not even from the install by the hd tech.
Considering my whole drama with this. I am thinking of taking it to another shop for a second opinion.
Additionally:
The installing shop did not order or purchase these wheels for me. I won them from EgoTripp directly. So the installer does not incur any responsibility for defective manufacturing.
I have learned winning something usually comes at an expense.
