Default Wheel bearings and spacers

I have an aftermarket 21" front wheel with a 3/4" axle, aftermarket wideglide trees and '05 fatboy lowers. I made up some spacers, but they are wrong. I have a bunch of miles on it and it is starting to be really noticeable. When I cut the spacers, I really had no reference as to how long they should be. The forks would move in and out like a 1/2" I thought I had it right but... Does anyone know what the proper measurement is between the lowers? Also my axle seems to bottom out on the threads, like it is pulled all the way into the lower and ran out of threads. I would like to get this right, I have some big trips planned this summer.

Anyone have any ideas or hints?

Thanks.
