Default wheel interchange questions...

I have a 2008 streetglide(Triked). IT has 2009 Triglide trees and tubes with 2008 Street Glide 16" wheel. Been working fine. I now have an offer of a chrome wheel from a 2009flhr. I was told it was a 16" wheel. I thought all 2009 touring were 17". When did the axle diameter change? Can it be corrected by using my streetglide wheel parts? Will the 17 work with the fender locations of the 16' wheel? Thanks guys!

Axle diameter changed in 08, on your current bike, so the 09 wheel should have the same size bearings. The rolling diameter of the 16" 17" and 18" front wheels are very similar, because the tyre size compensates for the increase in rim size. Your fender should be fine.

Previous owner said it came off a 2099flhr with 1" bearings installed. I don't have the wheel yet, but I think it should have 25mm bearings.
