My brother-in-law recently purchased a 2006 Ultra Classic with about 5000 miles on the bike. The owner just didn't ride it very much and decided he wanted to sell the bike. My brother-in-law said that the bike pulls hard to the left and it is a struggle to turn to the right. I'm looking for any suggestions that might be causing the problem.
I asked him if the bike had ever been wrecked and he said the owner said no, just dropped once.
might be a stuck caliper on the left side front...I guess the struggle to turn to the right is moving and not setting still....if setting still, got a problem in the head bearings I would think...
Chris, welcome to HDF from the UK. It is difficult to answer secondhand questions! Have YOU ridden it? It would help us to answer comments you make from firsthand experience, or get you bro to join, so we can get it from the horse's mouth. You seem to be suggesting the bike is not safe to ride. At the least, if neither of you are able to identify why, get it checked over by a local indy or dealer. We can't see it or ride it over the internet!
The things you can check easily are if either wheel is dragging: jack each wheel up and turn it over by hand, also twist each of them from the side, to see if the bearings are OK. With the bike on the ground check wheel alignment using a straight edge of even a piece of string pulled tight, to see if they are in line with each other.
