The left bag shown in the last pic is like new as you can see. The right bag top cover flaps are curled a little bit from getting wet im guessing. The rain covers wern't used by very many riders back then. I believe the owners manual says to use silicone on the bags to keep them conditioned. I know some have used kiwi leather/fabric dye re storer to darken the canvas material that becomes sun and weather faded. These bags are still sought after and very expensive to acquire now. Actually I think the newest version of Leather Pro saddlebags are a huge improvement in function and style from these original bags but its also a novelty to have the original bags on the bike that gives it that certain stock look that many of us still desire.

Yes thanks. It wasnt ridden very much in 32 yrs. (10k miles) so with some of the usual needed improvements that were done on the bike this past year it was alot of fun riding and getting familiar with it this past season. Its a classic fxr and a pleasure to own.

A set of these bags can still be found. It will cost you some cash though. Oh well, its only money.

I like that its wider on the lower part as it sure protects the tank and blocks the wind. I reused the original frame work from the old windshield. The new one came predrilled and worked perfectly. Its also built thicker than the old one. No annoying buffeting. The people at Clearview are great to work with and will help you decide on any custom options you are looking for. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Im impressed.

That is a gorgeous FXR!!

I used a Clearview windshield with the HD framework on my Dyna. They make top quality stuff!

I was gonna say, wow that battery area is so clean and spotless. Seats are around but that latch and hinge hardware is $$$$$$
