Bikes, Blues & BBQ

We arrived on Tuesday to visit with friends. Wednesday and Thursday the event was okay, music was good, etc. But Friday and Sat. the losers came out in force.
I saw Women that were punched in the face and bleeding all over the place, countless strollers late at night. On Sat night I saw two strollers within 20 feet of the railroad tracks. One had what looked like a newborn in there! I was shocked too see that those were active railroad tracks. Watching a train go thru the middle of a rally is eerie.
At any one time you could hear numerous bikes hitting their rev limiters or see fat old white men jacking their throttles on their baffleless metrics.
Getting passed by BMW's on the double line and on curves, watching them force their way back into groups of HD's was outrageous.
I got the finger from a azzhat on a HD bagger cause I gave his group the palms down (slow down) signal. It would have been good if you went around the corner and crashed as there was an ambulance in the road that was helping the other folks out. You turd!
All and all the Rally was a joke. The vending was lame at best. The carnival food at the rally gave everyone diarrhea. The Dixie cup sized drinks in the stage area were $8 and so watered down I could not taste the alcohol, the alcohol tax is a joke also. The attendees were disrespectful. Yuck. Never again!
So true. At a scenic overlook on the Pigtrail, where there had to be 50+ bikes parked, our group witnessed people chugging down cans of beer, crushing them, and tossing them in the side bag (at least they didn't litter). Then they go out and either hold up traffic or over-cook the corners and cross the double yellow.

I get down there frequently as some of you know. It's a great area to ride, and there's plenty of fun to be had off then bike too. I will say that my least favorite time to be there is during BBB. I'm not much into crowds like that and the roads get clogged with riders of all types. That leads to issues. Some go fast. Some go slow. Everyone feels their way is the right way and the other guy is a fool for going too fast/going to slow.
During the off times, we all manage to get along down there. If I'm holding someone up, I'll wave them by. If I'm overtaking on a double yellow and it's safe to pass, I will. Usually, we all end up at the same overlook or bar at the end of the day and nothing is said about any of it other than, "It was a great day to ride."
And yes - you are quite correct - we do have our share of white trash to be sure.
I'm in.
I should also add that we got in some great riding. However, Saturday's ride was sobering as we came across 3 crashes in almost as many hours in the general Jasper area. Local family heard from an EMT friend that worked the weekend and he said that there were more crashes by rallies end than all the previous rallies put together.
Daytona Bike Week is just as crazy with all of the spring breaker college kids crashing from drunk driving all over the place and fighting everywhere and causing riots. It's crazy. It's only a matter of time before Daytona doesn't allow Bike Week to be held there anymore. I'd guess in less than 5 years. We don't go anymore unless there's totally nothing going on. We started getting tickets for turn signal violations and such. Ridiculous tickets from cops sticking their chests out purposely trying to **** off riders because the city told them to do so.
