Sidecar options --
Glad you didn't have to do any engine work on your bike to haul the car, but that is not my experience. I have ridden many miles with my friend and his FLT with HD car. Anywhere but on flat level ground he was in 4th gear most of the time if he had two people on the bike, and then he couldn't run the speed limit.
Maybe it's you flat land elevation. Where we're at, we start at 5,000ft. and go up to 10,000. I stand by my statement of needing engine work to pull a sidecar, unless of course you are going to go 50 or 55 on flat level ground.
This one needed it:

I'ts not flat here but you may be right about the elevation part. The worse that is has been was going over the Berkshires in western Mass. with a 30MPH headwind, I was at WOT to maintain 70MPH. The rig was loaded, the boy in the hack, the little lady on the back and two weeks worth of gear. the highest elevation on Rt. 90 is 1764' so that may be the difference.
