There is no logical reason to oppose lane splitting when done in a safe manner. Each time we have these threads, people come on with all sorts of mistruths, and each time, those mistruths are debunked.

This is certainly the most important information I have ever heard. Glad to see our public servants are hard at work figuring this out. Ca citizens receive such wonderful services for their taxes. Wish I still lived in Ca.
You're right. Nevada is much more responsible with your tax dollars.

I find that lane splitting may be safe if done safely but is it smart? Especially in the 56 other states.

All you Cali splitters have been saying for YEARS, that it gets you out of congestion, blah, blah, but the study that was posted also said:

"Lane-splitters had a greater chance of being involved in a crash during the morning and afternoon commute hours than motorcyclists who were not lane-splitting."

When are you most likely to split? During the morning and afternoon commute maybe when traffic is heavy? How does that jive with what you have been saying forever about how it safely gets you from A to B when the traffic is backed up? You also have been saying it helps reduce getting rear ended. Great! But what about this part?

"The lane-splitting crash study, conducted by UC Berkeley and commissioned by the California Highway Patrol and the Office of Traffic Safety, also found that lane-splitters are less likely to be rear-ended by car drivers but are more likely to rear-end other vehicles."

You don't get rear ended as much yourself, but you manage to rear end others? I guess hitting someone else is better than getting hit yourself.

Do you see the quotation marks? It does say that. Your reading it, but not understanding it. Comprehend!
