J&S Lift - Air or Manual

This is to those of you who have the J&S lift. I am getting ready to order one but am up in the air (no pun intended) on whether to get the manual lift model or the air lift. For those of you who purchased yours since the air lift has been an option, what made you chose one over the other and, subsequently, would you have done it differently if you were to do it again?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I bought the manual version because I need the exercise.

It takes a few pumps to get the jack to the upper lift range, but it's not difficult.
Suppose it could be for someone with physical issues.

Figured I can use the jack in other locations where a compressor might not available and I can still use it if my compressor craps the bed.

The air lift would be really nice if you are wrenching every day.

I was contemplating the air version but decided against it because of the big price diff.
For the few times i use it, it wasn't worth it to me.

The manual lift does it's job as easily as anything you've ever tried to do. Lifts with such a small effort, a two year old could lift a dresser. If you are disabled the pneumatic set-up would be the way to go.

My ten year old works the lift for me with no problem. Air seems like a complete waste for a home garage.

I thought about the air option, decided to not spend the extra money. It's not really necessary, very easy to pump manually. Maybe if I had to raise and lower the thing multiple times a day I'd want the air assist.
If I had to do it over, I'd still pass on the air assist.

The air option would really be for a professional mechanic. They may use the lift many times a day, every day.

For a home mechanic it's just a nice thing to have.

Air costs more and takes up more space - manual works fine and doesn't take a long time.

Well I will go against the grain. I got the air and I love it. It has the foot pedal so you can use it instead of the air if you don't have access to a compressor. I watched the video and so how many pumps it took and thought the extra few $$ was worth it.

.............. have a manual, simple and effective. As has been said, all depends on frequency of use. If I had a full sized garage I'd try to get a deal on a table lift.
