Not sure what you are saying here. I have always thought the clunk was the transmission. Especially since I drove my friend's belt driven primary since it has no compensator and clunks just like mine. That is what I refer above in my post 6 with a thread to my post 29 there. Is the clunk the compensator winding up or is it in the transmission with the gear drive dogs drop in a stop the free spinning of the gears ?

What I'm saying is if I drop it into gear and there's no clunk or noise it usually means my primary belt snapped , done that a few times. I don't have a chain clutch I run a dry system.

Can't say whats up with the twinkies but in the evo's & older the clunk was tranny they didn't have the compensator issues the twinkies are prone to.

Not completely open , she doesn't whine but pull the clutch in at an idle she'll rattle. I get a kick out it myself if there's a crowd around , you can tell who the fresh meat is looks like a gopher town with all the heads popping up and looking .

Stealing the thread but. I was at a local hangout listening to a jam session last Sunday. Didn't see the guy ride up because he was already there. He got up to leave. Seen him around before. He does custom cars and bikes. He climbed on a cut down hardtail shovel with baby apes. Hit the starter and I got to hear that old high compression starter drag. She caught the second revolution. I looked back at the crowd while listening to her settle down to the lope. He had all the eyes.
