Default Riser bushing question

This is probably a stupid question, but I don't know any better.

All I've ever owned or ridden is a springer. I'm about to put a conventional front end on my scooter, made with the Hawg Halters wide glide trees. I failed to buy riser bushings when I bought the trees. So can any riser bushing set work or do I need to get the HHI bushings? I ask because that top plate on the trees is 1-1/2 inches thick. I'm thinking I need longer bushings for those thick trees....right?

Thanks
Dave

If your risers you need are one of these - then you will need to order it from HH as the ones for the Harley are different

I appreciate the reply. But I'm guessing you typed it in quickly and moved on, because I'm not positive I understand what you said.

Your first part: "If your risers you need are one of these", I'm guessing you meant riser bushings. And that's repeating my question really; Are those the riser bushings I need? Your second part makes it sound like the HHI riser bushings are indeed different than Harley's bushings.

So yes, I have the HHI triple tree, not a Harley, so I need to use the HHI riser bushings as well. Did I read you right?

The link gave three different part numbers based on the different front ends:
Choose RB-001 for all Harley models except touring models.
Choose RB-001 for HHI FLH 7, 9, or 12 degree trees.
Choose RB-003 for HHI X-23 trees
Choose RB-003 for all Touring Model Harley Davidson
Choose RB-002 for custom models using fine threads
It appears that in two of the three - you can use any riser bushing (including aftermarket company's) that fits the appropriate Harley model they referenced
The odd ball out is if you have a custom model with fine threads

Hope that helps since you didn't say what HH trees you have...

Looking at the link it seems clear enough, if you have HHI FLH 7, 9, or 12 degree trees or an HHI X-23 tree, then you need thier bushings - otherwise stock HD will fit but you didn't say which you have. Why not just call HH and ask them.
