I got a try-on jacket for my custom order two days ago, and wow, that thing was nice (the Grayson jacket). Great leather, great zipper, and the 46 long fit me perfectly. I'm getting the Grayson, but with the reinforcements of the Vented Racer.
I am slightly nervous after reading some of the older posts about custom orders not fitting well, but at least I'm not asking for anything fancy, and they have an example of a jacket that fits me perfectly. I even asked if they could just add reinforcements to that particular jacket, but they have to make it from scratch. I'd be interested in any recent feedback on Fox Creek, and I'll post pictures when I get it.
I've had nothing but good experiences with them. They stand behind their products. At the most, it may cost you return shipping which isn't a big deal. I have not ordered a custom build, though, and understand that may affect the ability to return the product.
They have some new jacket I'm interested in. Also rode out there (east coast to ~Roanoke VA). It's a really great ride if it's accessible to you and well worth an overnight.
Fox Creek is a great company and the people there are great to work with. However, I too have never ordered custom leather, just the standard jacket and chaps. If I did order custom, I would understand the caveats and disclaimers about returning such items.
Mine wasn't custom so no help there but I can tell you that the quality is top notch and had no issues exchanging mine for a different size. Custom sized returns may be fall under a different policy though.
I just ordered a jacket (vented race), chaps and gloves yesterday afternoon. An hour ago I got an email with a tracking number. Can't wait to get them!
I wanted one of their vests in brown that wasn't made that way. They sent me a trial for fitting in black and I liked the vest so much, I just kept it. I may get one in brown eventually, but I like this vest for sure.
