I am not one to every carry tools on my bike. I am entertaining carrying a leatherman "type" multi tool. It has pliers in case I have to pull a nail out and plug the tire, scredrivers..... Won't fix all problems.
Any of you just carry a multi tool vs a complete tool kit?
Any suggestions on which one? I'd like to not spend $50-$75 on a leatherman. I have read good things on SOG, Gerber, Leatherman wave and sidekick...
Or any other suggestions better than the multi tool to carry? It's got to be compact, as I have limited space, as most of us do.
Check out "CruzTools". I carry one, along with a multi-tool...
I was looking earlier at those CruzTools and I like it... The problem I see is my bike has both metric and standard, as do most of our bikes I am guessing.
Leatherman blast for me, My brother gave it to me after a tour in Afganniland. They don't make them any more, but it's a great tool that puts any other multi tool I've handled to shame. Don't carry anything else.
I carry a multi tool along with a few others. but then I have some bags to stash them too. Multi tool is very limited, but is a lot better than nothing!!
I carry a Leatherman Rebar and a Micra all the time and they have come in very handy. I also carry a regular pocket knife and I am not particularly fond of going to places I can't carry them as fell undressed.
We have several threads regarding what are necessary tools to carry. You really need to be selective and think about what repairs you might attempt on the road and just take the tools that will do those tasks.
Something I highly recommend -- zip ties, duct tape, blue painters tape, and loctite.

A leatherman is convenient, but not useful to actually work on a motorcycle.
The pliers and knife could come in handy though.
To actually work on a bike at a minimum:
Carry a small set of torx bits.
A small set of sockets
A 3/8" drive ratchet
A 6" extension
A 4-in-1 screwdriver.
Small crescent wrench
Those won't fit on your belt, but will allow to work on a bike.
