Harley stereo types
Turntables and audio are my other hobbies, besides motorcycles that suck up every last cent I have. Here are a couple of turntables I've built or modified.
This is one of my DIY turntables, I also built the 9" and 12" tonearms , the 12" tonearm in the back is made out of a drumstick.

Here is another shot of the DIY turntable with three tonearms mounted up sitting next to my Garrard 401 broadcast turntable.

I haven't been buying many records since I bought my road king, just too many motorcycle parts to buy!
I just moved from Chicago to Idaho last summer, and went from around a dozen down to three. Not quite as high end as yours, though! My main table is a MMF-5, plus a vintage Marantz, and I did my good deed and supported the Orbit U-Turn rollout by getting one. It is, imho, the absolute best deal out there in an entry level table.
I'm also very much into vintage vacuum tube gear. I have, I believe, a complete collection of every vacuum tube receiver Fisher ever made.
We should start a new thread in Off Topic!
Perhaps someone on this forum could be of help. I have a Technics Panasonic Direct Drive Player System SL 1200 that I bought sometime early 70's plays 33 and 45. Has the adjustable speed feature that is really important to me when I'm trying to learn songs (bass guitar) and need to speed up or slow down to get the correct key. I guess the motor is shot. I can barely get it to turn, only after playing with it for an hour or so will it even play at the same speed. Forget adjusting it up and down. Anyone know of someone or a place that can refurbish these things or is that not possible? It's been a great player for many years, I hate to throw it out.

As someone already pointed out go check out audiokarma.org . Your sl1200 probably has the most hardcore cult following of any turntable ever. You will have no problem finding parts, upgrades or people who specialize in the sl1200.
Yeah guys if y'all would like to start another thread on audio let's do it. I've been into vintage audio for years, I actually have my "newest" set up now consisting of early 90's Threshold gear. Threshold was a Nelson Pass company and are amazing products.
take care, Jeremy
