best battery?
The best list of who makes who I've found...
http://www.jgdarden.com/batteryfaq/batbrand.htm
The big manufacturers do make them to different specs based on who they are selling to, to get relabeled and resold. Some cheaper labels...like some everstarts sold at wallyworld, are indeed cheaper ones coming off the line than other models which may be better because they're contracted for someone else. It's not just one manfucturer that makes the Everstarts for Wallyworld....they have different models which they contract from different manufacturers. Not all Everstarts are made by Delphi...Wallyworld gets some models from Yuasa, Exide, Johnson, Optima, Enertec,
It gets mixed reviews, compared to the Big Crank on that same page.
I wouldn't place my trust in it.
Heres the same battery for approx $20-30 less depending in source, its big crank which is mfg's by Deka.
I have used Deak & big crank batteries in my bikes with great results, long srv'c life and good power,
Have also installed these batteries in peoples bikes i work in too with great results too.

FOR GUYS WITH HIGH COMPRESSION MOTOR HERE BATTERY AT GOOD PRICE WITH A WHOPPING " 600CCA " WHICH IS 200CCA MORE THEN AVG REPL BATTERY.
But i have no 1st hand exp with these batteries so dont know how good or bad they are, sometimes they get good feedback& sometimes they dont, thats all i can tell you.

BTW,since you said the battery is going to sit for quite a while prior to use you really should put it on a charger (or maint /float charger) 1x every 3-4wks to ensure it's kept at full charge to be less likely to sulfate due to lack of use & no charging activity.
Let us know how it this battery works out for you.

" That sounds like a bad battery tender, and possibly the reason why you're only getting 3 years on your batteries. "
BINGO!!!!!
You hit the nail on head with that statement and here is why i say that.
I have been wrenching bike & cars (Esp classic bikes & muscle cars) for over 4 decades and i have noticed a very consistent theme when it comes to premature battery fails esp bike batteries including the deka/yuasa batteries too that have proven to be long lasting high quality batteries with long srv'c life .
And it seems just about every time i come across a quality Deka/Yuasa agm bike battery that failed in only 1-2-3 yrs max the common theme is they told me they put a miant and or float charger on the battery either all the time or very often.
I also belong to 2 other forums Team chevelle because i own a 69 chevelle ss396 and Roadstar forum because i used to own one and over the past few yrs have chatted with guys there that had batteries fail in 1-2-3 yrs inc deka and yuasa high quality agm batteries or hi quality repop agm batteries for classic muscle cars fail early too and every time i asked if they used a manit or float charger thay all said yes with most using them all the time or often.
So with all the 1st hand exp i have working on bikes/cars along with also chatting with many guys on those other forums with premature battery failures too most usning maint-float chargers speaks volumes to me.
What i think is happening is maybe most if not all newer gen maint/float chargers might be set to keep the batteries at too high of a charge lvl over charging the betteries over time or maybe the lower float charge the charge supposedly drops back to after battery reaches full charge lvl is more harmfull then 1st though too.
I have a 3 diff maint chargers and they all drop back to their supposed low maint charge rates at different full voltages with 1 going of the chargers going to significantly higher voltage then the other 2 chargers before cutting back to its main charge.
Wouldnt you think there would be a safe voltage all the maint charger mfg's would design their maint chargers to cut back to that would ensure no damage was done to the battery with long term use of their maint charger which looks to me to not be the case with the 3 maint chargers i have and all the premature battery failures i have run accross in the past few yrs from guys using the manit chargers on a reg basis too.
So with that in mind even though i have float type battery chargers for my bikes and classic muscle car i only use them 1x every 3-4ks to bring battery up to full charge then remove them.
I do that so my batteries dont possibly get over charged if left on the manit charger 24/7 wks & or months at a time which seems to be an issue from what i have personally experienced and all the feedback i got from guys that had premature battery failures on the other forums i belong too when i they told me they were using maint chargers.
I find it easy to leave the chargers by the vehicles and simply hook them up 1x every 3-4wks for an afternoon on a wk end to top off their charge then un hook them.
Doing that i got 8ys out of the last cheap low quality std lead acid walmart battery i had in my other bike thats a 77 kawi kz1000 i owned since new
& just sold,an 06 yami roadstar 1700 v-twin cruiser i will, be selling with a deka agm battery in it thats 6yrs old that's still going strong too.
The repop Delco R59 battery i have in my 69 chevelle ss 396 is 7.5-8yrs old and still spins the high comp big block chevy over very well hot or cold using the maint charger on 1x every 3-4 wks just to top of the charge then remove it.
I bought the chevelle in 1978 and i actually got 13 yrs out of the 1st and 12 yrs out of the 2nd sears dieHard std type lead acid batteries i had in a row in that car using a std manual 6 amp charger on those batteries 1x every 3-4wks to top them off to full charge then removed the charger.
Always kept those diehard batteries ,terminals and cables clean of dirt/corrosion along with fluid topped off with distilled water too.
Friend of mine had a deka etx20L in his 05 roadstar that he said is 6.5 yrs old and still going strong too and doesnt use a maint charger on it 24/7 or often per my rec,he charges it mainly off season 1x every 3-4 wks like i rec which is what i do too.
Just bought my 09 FLHCTU 11/2014 with 9,700 miles on it that has a 1.5yr old Big crank/deka battery in it but the prior owner told me he used a maint charger on often so it may very well be already on its way to an early demise if my theory holds true that some of the maint chargers mfg'd today seem to be causing premature battery failure in some cases, only time will tell how that battery is going do long term.
The Excide replacement battery in my maxima finally went when it was 10yrs old,i keept the battery and terminals clean and also ensured its electrolite lvl was always above the plates using distilled water as required.
Also got 8.5-9yrs out of the autozone gold battery on the wifes old car my stepson now owns by keeping it clean and fluid lvl above the plates using dist water too.
Some people might say i got lucky on 1 maybe 2 batteries lasting longer then normal doing what i rec but when every battery in every vehicle i own consistently goes the distance lasting much longer then normal is proof enough for me.
People i maintain their bikes and classic cars for also get longer srvc life from their batteries too when they follow my charge rec in season or when in off season storrage.
So thats my $.02 & 4+ decades of 1st hand experience on today's maint chargers and battery maint in general which the longer then normal srv'c life i consistently get from the batteries in all my vehicles backs up.
