The Truth about Dryer Sheets and Mice; It only works if the Dryer Sheets are scented.
Mice are pretty low on the food chain, they have many predators,, they rely on their nose to "scent" predators,, if there is something present that has an overwhelming scent/fragrance they can't detect predators and don't feel safe,, if they don't feel safe-they don't stay around.
Ditto on the dryer sheets, DeCon, steel wool and spring traps; they are all effective. I would also recommend the Dealer storage. You can go see your baby most anytime, and they may even clean it up for ya' when it's time to roll out...
And, as far as condensation goes, just a simple flood lamp inside your shelter may be enough to do the trick.
I would just leave it......it's only 3 more months until its time to get it back out. In the mean time, trot on down to the dealer and pick up a service manual and a parts manual, get a 3ring binder ( to record what you've done, maintenance, repairs, and a couple of part or accessories fatally and make plans for the spring. Why should you be any different than us??? We're suffering bike withdrawals too!!
don't worry.....spring will be here soon enough. Or not....
I stored the Road Glide in a double doored shed for 6 years and not a drop of condensation ever ended up on the bike, at least not for any period of time. There was enough air in there circulating and I even think the wooden enclosure helped too. For that reason alone, I would muscle yours into the shed until spring.
I left mine under a Dowco cover for about 4-6 months of heat and rain.
The aluminum covers started to oxidize and some the chrome was starting the pitting/rust process.
Heres what I'd do......Unload your shed an pack as much junk out of there into your tarp shelter. Roll that pretty scooter in shed along with an extension cord. hook up that cord to a battery tender and a 100 watt light bulb. Visit it often and keep your eyes open for anything that could cause harm to your valuable toy. A little polish and TLC will not only keep your scooter in tip top condition....but your winter moral up too.
