This is why I sold my shovelhead in '81. It seemed like every time I got on it, I thought about crashing. Plus I only rode when it was nice weather...not too hot, not too cold. All that changed with this bike.

Never really thought about it because I'm not there yet but I'd guess when my physical abilities no longer allow me to ride safely.

I almost gave up on the 2 wheelers. Just too much military junk making the old body not capable of riding the ultra 2 up. The wife just lost interest because she didn't want to put us at risk. I also have a dyna fxdx that I used a lot on short runs or just when I needed a ride fix. This past aug I sold the ultra and bought a new tri glide after a lot of encouragement from the wife. I am very happy that I am riding again and especially that the wife is always wanting to go for a ride. I am testing the water about selling the fxdx and just give up 2 wheels and enjoy the tri glide.

I'm only 74 and can't see any time soon that I will give up touring. I have 14 bikes set up to ride and not just look at. Opps: disclaimer the 2000 Deuce is more dedicated as a show bike but it does get several local rides each season.

My hero is a 91 year old and his wife that finished all 49 states and all the Canadian Provinces. I think it was posted on this forum last year.

I do two or three rides each year that are about 1K in a day. That is how I keep track of my skills and endurance. If I find that it becomes difficult I will drop down to 6 or 700 mile rides.

I ride all winter to keep my skills up doing on average 6K from Nov. 1 to March 31st each year. When the touring season starts I'm good to go.

I suppose when I'm passed on, can't physically handle a bike any longer, or I just loose interest.

I fade in and out of hobbies pretty quick. Recently dumped a large amount of cash to try and get back in a hobby that I was really into for a few years and I just havent picked it back up like I though I would. Not as fun anymore, just as expensive, and I just dont have the time for it. One of my jobs also deals with this hobby, so I think I get burnt out quick having to deal with it nearly every day. But I have always have loved and go hunting and loved to ride 4-wheelers and dirt bikes since before I could legally drive on the road. Motorcycles have kept me the longest, I get to wrench for maintenance (I've always loved wrenching and building things,) and with different roads and riding to work almost daily it keeps me occupied and having fun. More and more I look forward to the clock hitting quitting time so I can hop on my bike and ride! Also more fun now that a few friends, my brother, and cousin have picked up bikes.

When they find your body lying in a heap, next to your totally demolished Harley. Preferably at altitude, with a nice view.

Always figured if I couldn't kick over my '49 Pan then it would be/might be time. At 67 years of age though it's not happening.

Yeah, like others have said, probably stay on two wheels until I feel physically or mentally unsafe for myself and others on tha road with me.

Hopefully not anytime soon. God willing
