My local dealer price matches online and does free install. I'd never do my own tires when someone is willing to do it for free...

I have always let the dealer do all my tires even though my dad used to own a tire shop where I was raised recapping car and truck tires. With this new one being a tubeless wire rim, I wouldn't know how to install the inner liner flap correctly anyway. Adjusting the belt tension without a gauge is also a concern.

My local dealer is too greedy for that. I got a new rear tire recently and mo local dealer wanted $260 for their tire and $110 labor. They charge $110 labor for each no matter if its the back or front tire, $110(the hourly rate) for something that takes them less than 30 minutes. I got a michlen commander II on ebay for $164.99 with free shipping and a local indy charged $50 or $60 to put it on. Saved $150 over what the dealer wanted.

Except that you don't have to pull the wheel to replace the pads.

I have neither the tools, nor the knowledge, skills or interest to do anything to my XL883L other than check tire pressures and oil level. I take it to an Indy that I trust implicitly. He always has my work completed as promised and at the price quoted. Based on what I hear from others, he is being more than fair with me. Frankly, I would rather spend my time riding instead of wrenching, but to each his own.
