Oh, I get it. You want an opinion as long as it agrees with yours..
I didn't know the rules...
I still side with your wife.
and, is 200 a lot of miles?
No you can have your opinion. just like everyone else. we had things we had to get done that Saturday so yes 200 miles is a lot if you have only time for that. weather has been bad here for almost a month so we had good ride.
you just seem to have some hostility in your response. Do you do this everytime someone adds a piece of chrome or do dad to their bike. Again you can have your opinion.
I say it's a nice little addition. But, I am a fan of cosmetic (and functional) mods. I always get a kick out of it when I see people looking at my bike and walking around it pointing out the little things here and there.
as for the wife, ask her why she needs expensive jewelry. It's not like anyone will notice, right?
I bought a used '03 RK with 38,000 miles on it. After going over it, changing cam tensioners, all fluids etc and checking it out, I started riding it to see what else it might need. Put a hundred miles or so total, on it, pulled into a parking lot, went inside the building, came out and the shifter rod was laying on the primary. Thought someone was messing with me. Tried to put it back together but the ball joint was worn out. I always carry a few zip ties with me in the tool bag so fixed it to get home. Original HD part.
I have the exact same shifter rod...however *I believe* both ends are supposed to go in front or towards you and not on the back side of the levers or on the side towards the jugs. It looks like your front end is on the back side. At least that's how I understood it. If I'm wrong, maybe someone in the know will chime in so I can fix mine
You are correct mcdaniel. It goes to the outward side of the motor.
The factory linkage failed on my 05 at about 20,000 miles. Fortunately it was on the lift getting a bath in the garage when it happened.
The day I took delivery of my Limited I replaced the linkage with the the OP style. I also replaced the brake pads with Lyndall Z Plus. (I hate brake dust!)
