I downloaded the update but I haven't connected it to the bike yet since the update. I hope V&H keeps up the solid work!

I'm sorta like oct1949 on this one but I'll stick to the Power Vision and my tuner.
Yeah I'll let you know when I get on the Dyno and I'll compare screen view with chart. A member here named Gwaxley I think, recently had his bike tuned using the FP3 and had a decent chart. I wonder if he's downloaded the new firmware and can compare. The downside is that it seems like it's in real time only and does not keep a log to view later (or at least I haven't found it). As far as formula accuracy goes, I'm a cyclist that trains with a power meter that measures my output in watts. Sometimes I'll train indoors and use a program that has a "virtual" power algorithm, one day I compared the two actual crank based meter reading vs. the computer, they were within 5-6% which surprised me. Damn these Mathematicians are getting good

I think this is kind of the point. All of the above are great tuners, and all of them had first, second, and probably third iterations before getting to where they are now and even then they keep updating. I don't think anyone will give up their current flash based tuner to buy an FP3, or change their PV2 for a TTS, etc. But I think what we're seeing is a continuance of making the product better and a thinning of the line between features when deciding which tuner is right for the individual. I personally can't believe the changes made to the firmware in the last 6 months alone.

This morning I hooked up my FP3 to take a look at the updates, only 27 degrees out so I didn't go riding. In fact I don't attach my screen (phone) to the bike generally so I've never really used the "view data" screen on my FP3 (although I just ordered a carrier just in case). As a result I've never looked at how to change the view but when I clicked it on today I didn't see the new readings so had to figure out how to manipulate the display. Very cool as the screenshots below show:

This one shows the screen how it will display when the bike is running. 5 possible display points

This was me goofing around with it. Simply press the display point you want to change and this "Dial wheel" comes up with various display options. Rotate through and choose the one you want, touch the screen and the selected icon shows up.

Robbiville, definitely follow up if and when you get your dyno. I would love to know how far apart the two are. I don't think it's gonna be that far but even if they are I am still really curious and want to know.

Will do, can't wait for the weather to break so I can make a nice leisurely trip to HarleyTuner in Fredericksburg Va!

So where do you get the maps for your base setting?

When you first install it and set it up it asks for you to select your exhaust. It assumes you have a high flow air cleaner. Then it downloads the applicable map.

If it doesn't list your exhaust you download one of a similar variety and can then auto-tune. If you've changed out cams then you use their support module and they can build you a tune based upon the cam specs and using your base map (autotuned or canned)

Looks like some decent weather starting next week. If you plan on coming make sure you call first. I sent the stack from my dyno in to Dynojet for some routine maintenance and am hoping to get it back by Wednesday. I'd hate to have you pop in if my dunno is down.

Thanks for the heads up, definitely will call first. I'm hoping to get out for a decent ride maybe on Wednesday and take some time off work to do it but won't have enough time to get to you regardless.

FWIW, and that may not be much I attached my screen to my bike last week and got out on a quick straightaway to do a WOT run, I think I was in 3rd, maybe 4th gear and torque got up to 104 before I had to crank it down. I know it's probably meaningless but was fun nevertheless.

When I do get out there, I'm hoping we can also talk about ways to fine tune my exhaust volume without losing too much performance. I'm going to order some new packing material and repack the "quiet" baffles I use with the steel wool packing vs. the fiberglass to see if that helps.

Either way, looking forward to getting over there and meet up.
