Ride last weekend.
My wife and I made a nice ride last weekend to an area around Timpson, Texas. We went up I-49 on the Friday and stopped at the fish hatchery in Forest Hill and in the historic downtown of Natchitoches, La. on outgoing ride. We spent Saturday at the ranch house on an exotic animal ranch and rode around in a 4WD mule looking at all of the animals plus going up to Marshall to visit the wholesale pottery factory. On Sunday when we left the thermometere on the porch had 38°. It was a little chilly for the first 100 miles then it got real nice. The temp topped out at around 70°. We rode down the east side of Toledo Bend to DeRidder and down to Hwy 14 in Lake Arthur, La. where we headed home. The total trip was about 615 miles. The tallboy seat presented no problems making this trip and was comfortable for the entire ride. The only bad part was riding through the rain from Logansport, La. to Timpson, Tx. on Friday afternoon when all that bad weather moved through Dallas and on down to Louisiana. I was pretty pleased with how the Low Rider performed and my gas mileage was 7 or 8 mpg better than I get on my everyday riding routine to and from work and all. The best was 45 mpg on the last leg to the house. I can't wait until the next trip. Who knows, maybe we will go for more miles.
