Question tie downs

2005 ultra ,, when straping the bike down on a jack , where do you tie down at the bike end ??

Any place that the strap will attached too.
Remember you're only looking to keep the bike from tipping over, not protecting it from any serious stress.

I run one strap through the front of the frame attached to the jack on both sides.
I use two straps attached to the rear foot boards.

I may be in the minority here but I never strap my bike down when on the lift. It's pretty darn stable without any straps. I've done oil changes, wheel removal, front fork removal, and other maintenance items without any problems.

I'm guessing/hoping that you have either a J&S or Pitbull jack?

I have a Sears yellow jack and I'll have to admit I don't think it needs to be strapped down, however I do so only for my own piece of mind.

I had a neighbor who dumped his Yamaha Royal and even though it only fell against his work bench it still caused about $1000 in damage.

IMO 5 minutes of time is a small price to pay for insurance.
However to each his own.
