Default Problem adjusting to the Heritage

Hi all, is it just me or are there others folks out there having a difficult time adjusting to their Heritage? For years I rode a Road King and 3 weeks ago I traded it in for a Heritage Classic. I know that they are two different rides but I didn't think I would have this much problem adjusting to the new ride. I rode it prior to trading but for some reason now I am having a hard time getting used to it. I am almost thinking of trading it in. Any suggestions out there?

What is it that you find dissatisfying?

What year Heritage? I am going to go on the assumption it is new. I've ridden my dad's old RK a few times, and before my current scoot (98 FXD), I had a 05 Heritage for a couple years. Only things I could suggest are possibly handlebars and maybe windshield. Maybe you aren't used to the apes that come on the Heritage. Does the windshield hit you differently on the Heritage compared to the RK? Those two things are of course pretty easily changed as far as feel is concerned. Everything else...just kind of the nature of the beasts as a RK and a Heritage are otherwise apples and oranges. I felt that you sit "on" the RK and "in" the Heritage. You have a lot more ground clearance on a RK and is a better handling bike...but the Heritage is much more of a looker (IMO). And of course there is the difference of the feel of the rubber mount vs. counterbalanced engine. So if bars and maybe a different height windshield won't do it, then trading might be your only option.

What EVOLFXD said to a "T". I have had both at the same time, & they are radically different rides. I felt the RoadKing was much more "Harleyish" because of the rubbermount. Give it some time. It's a Harley.

Just traded it back it back in for the Road King because obviously you did not do enough research and now you have buyer's remorse. It is bad enough to have buyer's remorse when you make a hundred dollar purchase but to have buyer's remorse over a 20k purchase well that's just sad.

Let me guess, you can not make a turn without tearing off the running boards!

Personally, I think your answer is in your post. "For years I rode a Road King and 3 weeks ago I traded it in for a Heritage Classic." You've only had your Heritage for 3 weeks, give it time, you gave your RK time didn't you!

I agree with "give it some time".... maybe go to a parking lot and practice figure 8's.....starts & stops and have some fun.....I ride a RK and Electra Glide but I know the Heritage I a nice scooter....if you plan on 2up touring you might miss your RK......have fun in the mean time !!
