This is true. I owned a '14 Heritage and now own a '14 RK, and the RK definitely has more power.

Correct. 14-15 RK is a Rushmore with upgraded cam & HO 103. It does not have the hydraulic clutch though.

the compression from 9.6:1 on the 2014 Fat Boy to 9.7:1 on the

Thanks to all for the responses. I drove the Road Glide tonight with the same engine and it is a world of difference from the Fatboy. I probably will get the Road King.
It would probably take $3500 to bring the Fatboy up to that power curve. Seems smarter to bite it now. I would love to have the Road Glide but that is to big of a jump.

I can't say, but you'll never get the true potato sound with EFI. You need a carb for that. Oh how I miss that sound.

Sorry, these guys \/ are correct.

I also believe there is a tad bit more power in the A motors due to the B engine having counter-balancers that rob some of the power from the engines. There's a price to pay for that smooth idle. So when you take that into account, and the HO 103" in the touring bikes, there is a noticeable difference.

Specs published on the MOCO website say the Fat Boy's 103B motor makes 97.4 torques. The Road King's 103 HO motor makes 104.7 torques. OP can mod his bike to make 7.3 more torques for a lot less than $3500.

Another thing nobody has mentioned so far is that the King weighs 90 lbs. more than the Fatty. So the Fatty actually comes out slightly ahead in a weight vs. torque comparison.

Sounds to me like OP is looking for an excuse to upgrade to a King....and there ain't nothing at all wrong with that!

Don't believe everything a manufacturer puts on their spec sheets. They control the conditions of the testing to come up with those numbers and are difficult to duplicate in the real world. When was the last time you got a car that actually got the gas mileage they advertised?
