So one of the clamps came off a heat shield, I don't no how to weld or have any of the equipment. Anybody have any advise how to fix this? Metal Adhesive maybe? Or should I just buy a new heat shield? I attached pics bellow thanks in advance!
Even if you could weld or had the equipment, it would most likely damage the chrome plating. They do make a high temp JB weld. Not sure if it would work or not.
Any welder can pop that back on but say goodby to the chrome on the other side and no glue or epoxy is going to hold that , sorry . Hit up a the dealer of a few local indy shops somebody is bound to have one of those laying around.
i would take it to the nearest auto repair shop(think tuffy/midas/whatev) and tell em you'll give em a 5 spot to put 4 tacks with mig on it.
a muffle shop..anything like that.
john doe independent repair shop.
worth a shot
go to harbor freight and buy a mig welder for a hundo and you'll have it forever.
I had the same break on my 2011 limited. Went to the local dealer and they gave me a take off heat shield from a bike that someone else had the exhaust changed on.
Try a dealer, all they can say is no.
