Sorry if I came off a little feisty, when you posted you wanted a helmet that goes well with your HD I thought we were on a fashion hunt Once thing to consider with a full face is are you riding with a windscreen or not, I ride without any wind protection so I look for helmets that are aerodynamic and designed for high speed riding, some of the more bulky designs can suffer from wind buffeting and the rider can get some howling or even vibration in the helmet at highway speeds. I've got a closet full of helmets and some will vibrate and howl so loudly from the wind as to make you crazy, others like my Bell Star Carbon Fiber have no odd noise or vibration and can be worn all day.

A full face isn't going to help you much with hearing protection, the wind noise itself is still too high, especially without a windscreen and I've always worn earplugs, it's nice to block the wind noise out and to actually be able to hear the purr of the pipes If you're riding behind a windscreen you can look more to helmets with an eye to a style that appeals to you, if you're out in the wind like I am the style points fall to how smooth it cuts the wind and those tend to end up looking rather 'sportbikey'...

I don't have a FF, but I'm thinking about getting one for long highway trips. I'm considering the Scorpion RXO-R410, matt black, of course. For the amount I will use it, its very inexpensive, gets great reviews, and is DOT & Snell 2010. I think it does nor scream sportbike.

It's a proven and well documented fact - they do exist.

I think the Biltwell Gringo is an old school look that was made specifically to go well with HD, instead of sport bikes. They have a new S model with the shield attached like normal.

I have a Licks' 3/4 but was thinking of getting a Gringo as well.

I like my Bell Vortex. ($179,) but colors can be found on sale. Solid black may be preferable for Harley. But, I got a buy on one for $100. The Vortex is a better helmet than a lot of $200 helmets.

Like others, I usually only wear full face if it is cold or raining. I have worn it in summer because rain chance was high. It wasn't uncomfortably hot.

Revzilla not always the cheapest, but they do some good reviews on equipment, including helmets.

I have a 3/4 and a 1/2. I usually ride with the 1/2. The 3/4 is much better if the wind kicks up as the 1/2 wants to lift. I started buying white helmets to stay cooler in the summer. My black Shoei would cook me while sitting at lights.

I use a Shoei Air Wanderer. Pricey, but it fits very well, with a drop down visor. I bought it from Revzilla. Shipping is free and quick and if it does not fit you can send it back for a different size. Customer service is excellent!
