whats wrong w/ you people?
don't you have any reaction time at all?
I usually swat them aside with a dexterity that staggers feeble minds.
knowing how important those insects are to the local ecology sometimes I just swat them aside with enough grace to allow them to carry on....
true story
Luckily, I was not on my bike the day this happened.
About a year ago, I had just exited the Dallas North Tollway onto SH 121 and hit a swarm of bees. There were so many, I could see them going across the highway as I got up close. When I got home my grill and windshield had dead bees all over them. Good day to be in a cage.
No Fun!
I've been Bee stung twice,, but their not the only winged hazard.
Got smacked in the forehead last year by a Dragon Fly,, that sucker must have been all of a 1/4 pound! It left a welt and at least a tablespoon of bug goo!!
Birds!!
I had a flock of Blackbirds come off the power line in full downward swoop across the road and caught one center chest, a Goldfinch last year bounced off my helmet (didn't see that one till the last second) and a few years ago I just barley ducked under a pheasant that came out of the ditch.
I'm just amazed about how that wasp flew up my jacket sleeve. I had gloves on and I keep my jacket cuffs zipped up tight, couldn't of been much of a gap.
Wear gauntlet gloves and tuck your jacket sleeves in them.
You wanna see comedy? A couple of wasps decided to make their home in a Cessna 240 when I was flying cargo some years ago. They all decided to wake up as I climbed through about 50 feet one morning. It was sporty in that cockpit, to say the least. LOL!
About 25 years ago caught a sorrow centre of my chest, thought I got shot, how I got the bike stopped I will never know, unfortunately the sparrow did not make it.
