As with others, I will also agree with this. Matter of fact, that's also how I do it.
I was taught to clean bugs this way 55 years ago when I first started riding. While other methods / products have come and gone hot water and a towel are still my default method. And for someone 70 years old and on a fixed income I find the price quite appealing.
anyone who taught Asbestos abatement knows that Soap make water wetter...
so really... just add 10% of your fav dishwater soap to WATER and Va-law.. instance bug remove in a spray..
Remember you don't have to be a Rocket Surgeon to figure out ****........
Sure, dish soap removes bugs, but it also strips wax. Wax helps make bugs easier to remove with just a towel & hot water. You see where I'm goin' with this?
I saw on the forum about using a towel soaked in hot water and it works great on my wind shield and lower fairings. saves from a lot of washing. I wipe it back down with a shammy.
Yea i have one too and is expensive . Find one at walmrt bug remover . U may find at any auto store too for 1.99. Used all other cans including thurtle .they r messy and they dont work well on bugs that was there for long time.
Peroxide never worked for me.. Especially if the bugs have been thru a few hest cycles lol.. The turtle wax spray worked pretty good.. Now I use the empty turtle wax bottles to spray on a mix of half soap(not dish soap) half water.. I make it pretty thick to stay where I spray and not run off.. I'll usually spray it on while I'm getting whatever supplies needed to wash the bike..
Lemon Pledge...obviously you will need to apply PRIOR to getting bugs on the windshield, headlights etc, then just hit it with some warm water and off the bugs come.
Hydrogen Peroxide and water. Mix 50/50, spray on, wait a few, and the bugs should just melt away. It eats the protein.
I've tried them all, and this is the easiest, cheapest, and fastest way to remove bugs after a ride. I follow it up with either Purple Slice or Honda cleaner to make things shine.
Anyone who hasn't tried 50/50 H2O and H2O2 is just letting the best in life pass them by ....
