i think we all gave him some 'safe' bug and tar remover ideas. isn't that what he asked for?

I haven't used it on my bike, but Tarminator is awesome. Removes tar and tree sap in 30 seconds. I spray it on, wait 30 seconds and rub off. Then I wash vehicle. Hasn't harmed any paint.

On the bike, I use this: http://www.originalbikespirits.com/p...leaner-polish/

I use plexus on just about anything. takes bugs off easy and then flip to a clean side of the towel and wipe the remaining film off and it leaves a wax like finish.

We get terrible May flies up by lake ontario every year and this makes short work of bugs and leaves a nice finish.

Take off the front finder. If you don't have one, it won't find any of that stuff.

8 months since my original post, I use a hand towel soaked in as hot as possible tap water for the bugs, and WD40 for the tar on the non painted surfaces. I do my very best to keep my painted surfaces out of the road tar, because when my hog roots in the mud or tar it gets damn expensive damn fast LOL

Hey everyone,

There is a lot of great discussion here about removing bugs and tar safely without hurting the paint. It is important to know what is in the product you are using. We do make a product called 303Ž Multi-Surface Cleaner specially formulated to clean all surfaces, while rinsing residue free and contains no harsh chemicals; caustics or acids. We also make a product that can be used after the surface is clean called 303Ž Speed Detailer, which helps keep the surface clean and protected longer than an untreated surface.

If anyone is interested in some samples, please send us a PM with your mailing address (sorry, no P.O. boxes please) and would be happy to send you some!

Have a great day!
