Security System Help Needed
My long awaited security module came in today, Finally after 2 months of back order (for a 2006 heritage).
I installed it, but the engine would only start for a second. The security system works fine along with the pager.
I called my dealer and unfortunatly spoke to the A$$hole service manager. This guy is the most arrogant son of a Bitch I know. He says "MMM I think it has to be mated to the bike.
I proceeded to tell him that my 03 dyna didn't have to do that, all i had to do was to plug it in and assign the keyfob. Then he says "Thats why WE work on the bikes" "Were trained for it".
I'm so pi$$ed off right now, I want to grab him by the throat.
My question is,
Does it really have to be matched to the bike after installation?
The new modules talk about auto arming being enabled with the Digital Tech machine, so I'm wondering if he is right (Which is ok, except for the attitude he always gives people).

I wish I could answer you question but you did provide me with some info. I too have been waiting for the module to finally ship. I kept hearing "they are shipping on the 19th". I've had the Siren II and pager sitting on the shelf for sometime now.
I'm curious to see what the responses will be since hopefully I'll be doing the same thing in the not too distant future.

Funny thing is I just got home from the York Operations Plant from a private tour (Couldn't bribe anyone there for one) and I had to stop at the dealer to show them the transmission plate guide dowel that was stuck to my transmission drain plug magnet. I found it saturday while doing my 1000 mile service.
Luckly it stuck to the plug during assembly and not in my gears.
Mr personality (The service manager) said the assembler must have had a bad day that day and it fell in the tranny during assembly.
After the treatment I recieved from him today, were going to have a few words together face to face in the near future.

This should get you going again, It's in the DIY forum under electric topics. Had you posted this in the tech section, you'd be out riding now
Found it here by accident.
I searched every possible name except the word marrying. I still need to order my service manual for the new bike. My other one went with the old bike.
It didn't hold up my riding though, I was working on my PC Map (Nasty Decel Pop).
I guess what puzzled me was my 03 was Carb not ECU. I don't remember doing this procedure back then.
Sorry about the rant, but my Service manager feels that they should do everything all the way down to putting on a Chrome Hot Topper.
For the money I spend there, He could have easily pointed out the procedure.
