Default Weight loss

Last month I had a flat tire on my '07 Deluxe, picked up a nail somewhere. I had some store credit and the dealer is doing free installs, so I had them install new tire/tube/band, and all seemed fine. I've been really busy lately, but decided to slip out for a couple of hours ride this afternoon. I walked into my bike shed and right away noticed something shiny on the floor by the rear wheel -- it was the balance weights from the wheel(!) When I last parked the bike there (just a couple days ago), the weights just happened to be positioned at the top of the wheel. Apparently the adhesive turned loose and the weights simply dropped to the floor. I suppose either I got some weights with weak adhesive, or the wheel wasn't properly cleaned prior to attachment.

So wipe your rim with a non-residual solvent, Alcohol ? attempted to reattach the weights. Mark your rim with a crayon, if the weights don't stick go up to the dealer and ask for replacement weights or add some Ride On balancer.

I'd just take it back to the dealer.

I had same thing happen to me other day. Lots of people on here use ride on or dyno beads. That is what im going to do also. Im leaning more towards ride on just in case I get something stuck in tire. Got to find best place to get it though.

Ride On or DynaBeads. Those weights are gonna kill someone or take an eye out.

I like the dynabeads use it on all my bikes. I had a weight sling off when riding and dented the fender. Ditched the weights from that day forward.

Get Ride On! I've used it on 3 sets of tires. It balances Without the ugly weights AND stops flats.

I mount my own tires but being old and a human when I got it mounted on the bike and torqued everything to specs I remembered that I forgot to balance it first.

Went out for a test ride before doing the rework and it was smooth as silk up to 80 which is my self imposed throttle limit (well most of the time).

Saved some rework. I had indexed it as I mounted it so that must have helped.

The beads may have been the next step. I think I will have a supply on hand. Never like the weights stuck on a rim anyway.

Huge Ride On fan but with tubed tires it will balance but not provide the same assurance with tube tires as tubeless regarding protection against flats. I will never put on another tire without Ride On.

I didn't know it would work in tubed tires -- might have to try it.
