Ok so I'm currently looking at a 2001 road king on kijiji haven't had a chance to go check it out but when I do I just wanna know what to look out for. Any issues to listen for ,now the bike looks good from the pictures but they can be deceiving I'll post a pic up so you can have a look any help would be appreciated! Now he's asking $11,500 canadian I'm just wondering if that's too much?
How many miles are on it. So 11,500 Canadian is roughly $8900, sounds about right depending on condition. Not a big fan of the 21" front wheel but to each their own.
Mileage? I recently bought a used 2001. Everyone mentioned the cam tensioners as an issue as well as some mentioned the EFI system. I have had no uses with mine. I just made sure that I had the cam tensioners checked.

Agreed, I have heard the same thing. I've also heard they are supposed to have a rock solid crank. I believe a tuner will help with the EFI issues.
I really like that bike..
But don't know anything bout it..
Assuming it's efi, I would immediately upgrade the tuner.
If it's not efi, I would pass on it..that's just me..
I would immediately replace tensioners with gear set..
Those lids open from inside out, right..
Nice coloration on that thing
$9k seems high maybe it's got crazy epic upgrades
never buy a bike for how it looks. Always buy a bike for how it will look,
with a lot of TLC and some imagination. As far as what to look out for, your
guess will be as good as any, pull the dip stick, and look if the oil has been
freshly changed or is it as black as the ace of spades. now hold it up to the
sun light and see how much sparkly crap is floating around in the oil, be
sure to do this after it has been started and warmed up, not before. I don't
care for the front wheel but I love the color.
It does have efi as for the mileage unknown for know until the seller gets back to me also the price is OBO so I'm hoping if I can get it for a bit cheaper than that I'll keep you posted
I thin 8900 is quiet a bit too high. The owner may be wanting compensation for the upgrades. I agree on the chain tensioners and the swing arm, those are gonna cost you. I cant tell from pics about mechanical soundness of the bike. I just looked at on 02 RKC for sale. It don't have the 21" tire or the apes and the guy is asking 8200 OBO, I wont pay 1 cent over 7G's and I hope to pay less tan that. I'm making an offer of 6700 today.
