Thanks. I know only one person who has one (on a '10 883). When I asked him why he has it, he sheepishly answered "Because I thought it would look good." I don't know him at all well, so I left it at that.

As other responses on this thread have shown, oil temp is going to be all over the place. Other than satisfying your curiosity, what does it tell you? You're going down the road. Oil temp reads 195F. Good or bad? Do you shut down or keep going? Troubleshoot the "problem", or ignore it?

I was being curious. That curiosity was prompted by the many threads about engines running cooler once a fuel management component had been added.

I want to put gauge pods running down my handle bars like all the cool kids put along their windowsill in their Mustangs. Lots of useful information there.

Or you can monitor your head temp with your Powervision Tuner and a lot more.
