Wow, I think that's a forum first!

Never even heard of "cold tires" being an issue. Is THAT why I keep dumping my bike in cold weather?? And all this time I just thought it was because of all the ice everywhre...
I have a 10 mile rule: I always ride 10 miles before I start abusing my bike. It gives me plenty of time for a warm up and plenty time to know if something isnt feeling right. Ive never even thought about cold tires
I don't feel a difference in my tires (by how the bike rides) until it is low 30's and 20's. Since the 1st 10 miles of my ride to work is pretty twisty, I just take it a bit easy until I know how the bike reacts to the curves. You can feel it start to come back around as they warm up a bit. The last 20 miles has gentle curves and lots of straights, so I don't have any concern then.

"I accept with muy muy humility."
Hey I never heard of it either until I read it a few days ago. I couldn't find any indication that it was race only, what temps were an issue, etc. I like to learn this kinda stuff without the hard knocks. Thanks for all the replies. At least there's one less thing to worry about.
I'm surprised I got 15 posts without someone saying, "If you have to ask about warming up your tires, you shouldn't ride bikes."
