Just wondering if any of you guys have tried EASY BRACKETS on a 2006 softailstandard.I am interested in knowing whether there are any problems with fitting them before I order as I live in Australia.I would also like to know whether the saddle bags once fitted tend to sit too far forward as I understand from their web site that the easy brackets attach to the front two bolts on the strut.Any help appreciated.
I don't know if this helps but I had a set for aSportster and I was able to put the bags where I wanted them. Because of detachables my bags stuck out kinda too far for my liking. It was only an issue when viewing from the rear. I ran with the bags so often that I switched to bolt on HD bags.
Other than a wider gap space, never heard of a problem w/them. I have a set on my Deadwood, and they allowed me to have HD bags on them (Henderson bags were hard to come by back then - virtually non-existent now).
Have a set on my Deuce, you should be able to mount your bags any position you want on the Easy Bracket. If you have to mount the Easy Bracket itself to the front two bolts of the strut just move your bags back when you mount them to the Easy Bracket.
I have a set on my Dyna and love them. They lock the bags on the bike when you need them, come off in 30 seconds and leave only a small pair of docking posts on each side. Look all you want, I'd be surprised if you can find them for any less than $149.00. Cheap on E-bay, but with shipping, still about $149.00.
