Saddle Sore 1000 Launch Tomorrow
The bike, an '07 Sportster 1200C, is prepped and ready to go:

For the trip I added a phone mount with power so as to use Waze for navigation - it will be talking to me via the Sena on my helmet. I also installed a mount with power for my radar detector which I lifted out of my car. I also have an AirHawk seat cushion, a backpack with drinks, munchies, tools, etc, a tank bag with directions for each leg in the view window, and recently upgraded rear shocks.
I normally ride without it, but after much thought I decided to go with the windshield - it takes a lot of pressure off the chest, of course, but at the cost of turbulence around the helmet.
Here is my Washington Loop route:

Now, I'm hoping that I'll be able to make SpotWalla work in real time, and that's one of the things that is helping my wife feel better because she should be able to go online and see where I am on the ride. I hope it goes live tomorrow at 0400, because I'm not going to have time to fool with it if I've failed with the tech:

I know some people think this is no big deal, but I've planned it like a space shuttle mission because, well, that's me.
You will likely learn long distance riding is addictive...
Good luck and ride safe.
