I wouldn't worry about it. For some, two up is 200 pounds. For others, they truly deserve the name Fat Boy at 450 pounds solo.

For peace of mind if you have a bit of OCD, which it sounds like you do, run one tank of gas through it solo, at varying speeds, then after that, load up as many people and gear as you want without giving it a second thought.

I too am a believer of the first oil change at 500 or 1,000 miles to remove the initial filings from break in.

I don't buy new bikes, but I did buy a new Jeep in 2007 and traded that in on another new Jeep in 2014. Unrelated, but the 2007 was a really bad purchase, but the 2014 was a pretty good deal on a vehicle I am satisfied with.

Did the mototune thing on the SGS. It runs out very strong. Worst thing you can do to a new motor is baby it imo.

You're past that point though. At least dump the oil.

If my wife had to wait until I had 500 miles on the bike to ride it with me she wouldn't have let me buy it.

Dont you people read your manual before you leave the dealership on your new expensive ride?

I did...

Clearly states that you should not ride two up ever!

Even starting a bike between certain outside temperatures will void the warranty. And if iits raining? Dont even look at it...

Manual reading is for chumps

I stabbed my last manual...in the dealership!
That will show them (them being the MOCO...not the dealer)

I've never bought a bike spanking brand-new, so the whole break-in thing to me is undiscovered territory. On the used bikes (and cars) I've bought, though, they get an immediate oil change even if the guy swears on a stack of bibles he just did it.

my question is... is this your first bike? have you ever rode 2 up before in your life? do you have enough experience to ride 2 up? has your passanger ever rode on a bike with someone? do they know what to do in turns?
I think weather the bike can handle it is a silly question.

when I buy a new car is it ok to have someone ride in it with me before 500 miles ?
